European visit to Albania exposes Iran's misinformation campaign

European visit to Albania exposes Iran's misinformation campaign A high-level delegation of MEPs from Brussels recently visited Ashraf 3 in Tirana, Albania. Photo by Firouz Mahvi Nov. 27 (UPI) -- In 2013, an airlift began and the first Iranian dissidents arrived in the Albanian capital, plucked to safety from the hell they had endured in Camp Ashraf and Camp Liberty inside Iraq. Albania may be a tiny country, but its people have big hearts. Having suffered years of oppression under the communists, the Albanian government was united in its determination to offer a safe haven to the People's Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI or MEK ). Soon the surviving 3,000 MEK members were safely housed in special accommodation in Tirana, provided by the U.N. High Commission for Refugees. The Iranian mullahs were appalled; their attempts to liquidate the MEK, the main democratic opposition to their tyrannical regime, had been thwarted. They could not allow these dissidents, wh...

A Foiled Attempt to Whitewash the Terrorist Regime in Tehran  Mr. Struan Stevenson In a letter to The Guardian November 9, Mr. Struan Stevenson Coordinator of Campaign for Iran Change, described Reza Marat’s article in this newspaper as far from journalism impartiality and encouraging a regime stuffed with suppressing Iranian people and terrorism in the region and the world. International Condemnation of Iran Must Be Backed With Action

International Condemnation of Iran Must Be Backed With Action By:Ken Blackwell The  Third Committee  of the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on November 15, condemning the Iranian regime’s systematic human rights violations. The censure goes next to the UN General Assembly for a vote in December. The regime’s record of severe abuse stretches back over decades. During Iran’s “summer of blood” in 1988, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini launched a campaign to wipe out the opposition, ordering the execution of leftists and members of the principal opposition movement, the Mujahedin-e Khalq ( PMOI/MEK ). Over a period of just five months, some  30,000  Iranians were slaughtered. This year’s resolution, the 65th such U.N. censure of Iranian abuse, referenced various accounts and reports of Tehran’s breaches, some produced by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and UN Special Rapporteur Javid...

Character Assassination

Character Assassination By Ali Safavi Character assassination, a particularly repugnant political tactic, has been employed extensively throughout history. An extreme case in contemporary American history, McCarthyism, has since been condemned by the public and political circles, both Democrat and Republican. Slander, distortion, fabrication and sophistry are the tools of the trade. Hitler’s propaganda minister,  Joseph Goebbels , believed that the bigger the lie, the more convincing.  Machiavelli taught that the ends justify the means. Both “principles” are applied in character assassination. Paul Pillar’s “ The MEK and the Bankrupt U.S. Policy on Iran ” (The National Interest, Nov. 13), is the latest in a chain of attempts to denigrate the legitimacy of the main Iranian opposition movement, the Mujahedin-e Khalq ( PMOI/MEK ). As to whether this litany of stale, utterly preposterous slander will achieve its goal is an entirely different matter. ...

IRANIAN REGIME’S DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO DEMONIZE THE MUJAHEDIN-E KHALQ (MEK)

IRANIAN REGIME’S DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO DEMONIZE THE MUJAHEDIN-E KHALQ (MEK) By INU Staff INU - A firm stance, demanding that Islamic Republic of Iran’s human rights abuses, aggressive military expansionism, sponsorship of terrorism, and cyber warfare be halted and replaced with a “constructive dialogue” as US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, referred to when he endeavored Iran to act like “a normal country”. According to Dr. Majid Rafizadeh , Harvard-educated Iranian-American political scientist, and leading expert on Iran and US foreign policy, businessman and president of the International American Council believes that “certain journalists are all too willing to naively, or perhaps maliciously, lap up every shred of misinformation about the Iranian opposition and augment every iota of pro-regime propaganda. These ‘useful idiots’ crop up in newspapers and on radio and television in Europe and the US.” The propaganda has increased and a well-funded, highly organize...
