The Iranian Regime's Collapse Is Coming Soon

The Iranian Regime's Collapse Is Coming Soon By Shahriar Kia The long-suffering people of Iran have been making calls for regime change. They have been calling the regime out for its mismanagement and corruption. They have made it very clear that they do not support the regime’s interventions across the region. They want it to be known that they are horrified that the regime is spreading chaos across the Middle East. Millions of Iranians have been directly impacted by the credit organisations that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is in control of. Millions have lost their entire life savings. They are also becoming increasingly outspoken about their situation on social media and through messaging apps. Gone are the days when the regime can limit what goes to press. Furthermore, the people are strongly supported by many people outside the country. The main opposition, the National council of Resistance of Iran ( NCRI ), has support from people across the...

Iranian crackdown on MEK shows the activist group has popular support

Iranian crackdown on MEK shows the activist group has popular support Published on May 29, 2019   by Ali Safavi OPINION | Iran’s increasing crackdown on the MEK, an activist group accused by the mullahs of organizing mass protests, proves the group is the main alternative to the present Iranian regime. Lima Charlie World is publishing the following opinion article in its entirety. At times, Lima Charlie World will publish opinion articles that are relevant to critical foreign policy issues. The viewpoints expressed by the author do not necessarily reflect the opinions or viewpoints of Lima Charlie World. In light of escalating tensions with Iran, the terrorist designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and increasing popular protests inside the country, many are asking: Is there a viable alternative to Iran’s mullahs?   Well, the Iranian Regime itself gives us the answer. Last month, once again, senior Iranian regime officials publi...

Trump Should Express His Support of Iranian Demonstrators

Trump Should Express His Support of Iranian Demonstrators By Raymond Tanter Secretary of State Mike Pompeo laid out the basis for "The Trump Doctrine" in the November/December 2018 issue of Foreign Affairs: "Both on the campaign trail and in office, President Trump has been clear about the need for bold American leadership to put the United States’ security interests first." Consider how President Trump approaches Iran in contrast to how he handles North Korea, in an AP report of March 22. Trump tweeted he reversed his administration’s decision to slap new sanctions on North Korea, with his press secretary explaining that he “likes” leader Kim Jong Un and doesn’t think they’re necessary. It was announced on March 22 by Treasury that additional large-scale sanctions would be added to those already existing on North Korea. “Trump wrote that he ordered the withdrawal of those additional Sanctions!” In contrast to Pyongyang, President Trump purs...

Yes, the Iran regime has a viable alternative

Yes, the Iran regime has a viable alternative By Tom Ridge  Over the years, it has been my privilege to meet with Iranians whose spouses, children and friends are among the 120,000 executed since the mullahs took over the great country of Iran, whose culture is one of the world’s most sophisticated, its population one of the most literate and one of the youngest. Yet they remain under the thumb of what some in Washington still refer to as a “moderate” regime. I have been asked about the regime’s alleged moderation. Let’s look at Iranian elections in contrast to the Democratic candidacies this year, or the Republican primary last time around dozens of candidates. They don’t do that under the moderate regime in Iran. Everyone is vetted, and unless you are approved by the mullahs you can’t be a candidate. How about our First Amendment? We have more than 100 networks and television stations, free to roam, and newspapers everywhere. Freedom of press in Iran? Are t...

Iran - Death Throes of a Thuggish Regime

Iran - Death Throes of a Thuggish Regime By Struan Stevenson  Using the powers of the February Decrees and Enabling Act in 1933/34 the Nazis consolidated their power and set about preventing any possible opposition. This included the use of fear and violence through Nazi organisations such as the SS and Gestapo. Hitler’s reign of terror spread far beyond the borders of Germany and quickly engulfed vast swathes of Europe and Africa. The parallels with modern Iran are stark and terrifying. Following the Iranian revolution which brought Ayatollah Ruholla Khomeini to power in February 1979, the Iranian constitution was altered to introduce the system of velayat-e-faqih, or guardianship of the Islamic jurist, effectively providing the Supreme Leader with power claimed to come directly from God. Like Hitler, Khomeini moved rapidly to eliminate opposition to his clerical dictatorship, ruthlessly murdering tens of thousands of political opponents whom he claimed ...

Iran news in brief, February 18, 2019 MEK Supporters Urge Munich Security Conference to Expel Zarif Opponents of Iran's regime in Germany on Sunday protested the presence of the regime's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif at the Munich Security Conference. Supporters of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran, or Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK), rallying opposite the global security summit, held banners stating the Iranian regime is the number one state sponsor of terrorism and cause of regional instability. The MEK supporters chanted, "Zarif is a terrorist", "Kick Javad Zarif out" and "No to appeasement; Yes, to Resistance." The MEK protesters in Munich called on the European Union Member States in particular to shut down all the Iranian regime's embassies and expel agents of the regime's Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) and terrorist Quds Force. They urged both the EU and US to include the entirety of the MOIS and Revolu...

Iran news in brief, February 5, 2018

Iran news in brief, February 5, 2018 1- EU to Iran Regime: Stop Missile Tests, Assassination Attempts on European Soil The European Union on Monday urged Iran Regime to put an "immediate end" to "unacceptable behavior," including refraining from any further ballistic missiles tests or attempts to assassinate Iranian dissidents on European soil. The World Will Be A Safer Place, Without State-Sponsors Of Terrorism

“The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.” Albert Einstein The World Will Be A Safer Place, Without State-Sponsors Of Terrorism Unfortunately, we live in a world that the state-sponsors of terrorism threaten global peace and security. It is clear that terrorism reflects the corruption and deterioration of morality and humanity and alienation from the civilized world in the 21st century. There are governments that exploit terrorism as a device to silence dissidents. But in our era terrorism doesn’t stop at this stage. The most well-known of the state-sponsors of terrorism States-sponsors of terrorism defines governments that not only support terrorism but also use it as leverage to advance their foreign policies. They waste the national assets to fund this aim; instead of spending for people’s welfare. The most well-known of such states is the religious fascism ruling Iran, also known as...

Freedom fighters vs. dissidents in Iran

Freedom fighters vs. dissidents in Iran Column by Shahram Ahmadi Nasab Emran Understanding contemporary Iran and crafting a successful Iran policy require making a key distinction between organized freedom fighters devoted to the cause of bringing about change in Iran, and various groups and individuals who dislike the ruling regime. If we equate all dissidents under the umbrella term “Iranian opposition,” we only complicate our ability to recognize and work with viable pro-change forces. The terminology can be misleading. A key distinction needs to be made between freedom fighters and dissidents. Dissidents are those groups and individuals who are not happy with the current state of affairs. There is no question that the majority of Iranians and almost all Iranian groups in the diaspora fit in the category of dissidents. Dissatisfaction with the status quo...
