Khomeini’s evil precedents in Iran 40 year legacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Khomeini’s evil precedents in Iran 40 year legacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran The founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ruhollah Khomeini, has set many cruel precedents in Iran. Many of his so-called teachings are still being carried out today and according to one scholar, staying faithful to Khomeini’s ideology has been the litmus test for all political activity in Iran in the last 40 years. Therefore, despite dying only ten years after the founding of his tyrannical regime, one can draw the conclusion that the 40 years of death, destruction and corruption are his legacy. Before the revolution Sayyid Ruhollah Mūsavi Khomeini was born on September 24, 1902 and died on June 1989 at the age of 87. Known as a religious leader or marjah before the revolution, Khomeini refused to use his religious authority to oppose the coup against the pro-democracy government of Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh or the Shah’s crackdown on dissent which led to co...

HOW THE MEK WOULD RUN IRAN

HOW THE MEK WOULD RUN IRAN The Iranian Regime is besieged by US sanctions, international condemnation for their malign behaviour, factional infighting, and domestic unrest that has taken the form of nationwide anti-regime protests led by democratic opposition force the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran ( PMOI/MEK ). The MEK, as part of a wider coalition of democratic forces calling for regime change in Iran – the National Council of Resistance of Iran ( NCRI ), will take control in Iran for a six-month period following the fall of the mullahs to hold a free and fair election in order to form a national assembly and institute a new constitution. Given that it now seems more likely that the MEK will be taking power in Iran before too long, we thought we should look at the 10-point political platform they have adopted as it will so form the basis for the Iranian constitution. 1. The ballot box: The MEK believes that the only path to political legitim...

A Viable Democratic Alternative to the Iranian Regime

Maryam Rajavi  By  Ken Blackwell   One could easily argue that Iran’s ruling theocracy is facing the greatest internal threat to its rule since the 1980s. In the beginning of this year, the country was rocked by a mass uprising. The chain of protests was a major step forward for the domestic Resistance movement in the sense that it extracted political activism from farmers and the rural poor, despite the fact that these groups had long been thought to tolerate or even support the clerical regime. The December-to-January uprising was comprised of protests in upwards of 140 cities and towns spanning the entire country. And this diversity has remained on display in the ensuing months, as activist networks and entire populations continue to organize more localized demonstrations, in keeping with the call-to-action issued in March by   Maryam Rajavi , the president of the NationalCouncil of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) , a coalition headed by the principle Ira...
