Supporters of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran, or Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK), rallying opposite the global security summit, held banners stating the Iranian regime is the number one state sponsor of terrorism and cause of regional instability. The MEK supporters chanted, "Zarif is a terrorist", "Kick Javad Zarif out" and "No to appeasement; Yes, to Resistance." The MEK protesters in Munich called on the European Union Member States in particular to shut down all the Iranian regime's embassies and expel agents of the regime's Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) and terrorist Quds Force. They urged both the EU and US to include the entirety of the MOIS and Revolu...

The World Will Be A Safer Place, Without State-Sponsors Of Terrorism

“The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.” Albert Einstein The World Will Be A Safer Place, Without State-Sponsors Of Terrorism Unfortunately, we live in a world that the state-sponsors of terrorism threaten global peace and security. It is clear that terrorism reflects the corruption and deterioration of morality and humanity and alienation from the civilized world in the 21st century. There are governments that exploit terrorism as a device to silence dissidents. But in our era terrorism doesn’t stop at this stage. The most well-known of the state-sponsors of terrorism States-sponsors of terrorism defines governments that not only support terrorism but also use it as leverage to advance their foreign policies. They waste the national assets to fund this aim; instead of spending for people’s welfare. The most well-known of such states is the religious fascism ruling Iran, also known as...

THE ONLY WAY TO DEAL WITH IRAN IS REGIME CHANGE

Ali Khamenei THE ONLY WAY TO DEAL WITH IRAN IS REGIME CHANGE INU- Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei is failing to deal with domestic unrest that has sent many hundreds of thousands of people into the streets during 2018, which has resulted in yet more factional infighting among the mullahs. However, some in the West are misinterpreting this as a struggle between so-called hardliners, represented by Khamenei, and moderates, by President Hassan Rouhani. This is a huge mistake because this is no fight for policy or principle, as you might expect from a democracy. It is a struggle for ultimate power. The mullahs are selected for political office, rather than elected, and Iranian democracy is more for show than for use. Saeed Ghasseminejad, a senior adviser on Iran at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, said: “The Islamist regime in Tehran is a theocratic mafiocracy. Members of the mafia fight each other. They may have a very different point of views o...

Iran’s Heightened Fears of MEK Dissidents Are a Sign of Changing Times

Iran’s Heightened Fears of MEK Dissidents Are a Sign of Changing Times Iran has been the center of international attention in 2018. In light of unprecedented, continuous protests and strikes at home, a faltering economy, growing regional and international isolation, and the imposition of massive US sanctions, there are growing signs that the status quo has become untenable and the regime is finding it much more difficult to contain the situation. The theocratic regime’s new onslaught against its opponents, most notably against the principal opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran or Mujahedin-e-Khalq ( PMOI/MEK ), is a serious indicator of changing times in Iran. In addition to domestic repression, the multi-faceted campaign against the MEK entails terror plots in the West and massive disinformation and demonization in the media and on the Internet. Continuation of protests: The new Iran The most defining aspect of Iran in 2018 has b...

Tehran’s Influence Operations a Threat to Journalistic Independence

Ivan Sheehan Tehran’s Influence Operations a Threat to Journalistic Independence For decades, Tehran’s theocratic rulers have gone to great lengths to m ake inroads in Western media outlets once notable for upholding commitments to journalistic independence. These efforts have been so successful that many such organizations are now threatened from within by assets – often disguised as journalists – portraying Iran as the victim of US-led interference and even a looming war. These instruments of propaganda are used to demonize the regime’s opponents at key moments and stave off basic freedoms that would cause the regime to collapse like a house of cards. Many of these so-called journalists of Iranian origin previously worked for Iran's state-controlled media, and some parrot the regime’s talking points as if they are still on the payroll. Most have found comfortable homes in left-leaning media outlets in the West, including MSNBC,...
